Selection of Prayers and Salutations Upon the Holy Prophet ( Peace be upon him)

 

"Innallaha wa malaykataho yosalloona alannabi Ya ayohal lazeena amanoo saloo alehay wa salaymoo tasleema"

“Allah and His Angels send Salat (Blessings & Honours) on the

Holy Prophet (Muhammad). O you who believe! Send your

Salat (Durood Sharif) and Salaams on (Muhammad).”

-Surah Al-Azhab, Ayah 56

Durood Nariya

If it is recited daily, it will give such strength and power to the recitor that no one on Earth can subdue them. Allah will help the recitor from the quarters unknown to the human being. It grants success in all the affairs of the world. It brings about one's success for his/her net income.

Durood Fatih

The great saints and sages regard this durood as actual noor (light).

Hadhrat Abu Muqarab says that one's total sins will be washed away by reciting this durood forty times.

Hadhrat Shaykh Muhammad al-Baqri says that recitation of this durood once a day saves the recitor from the hellfire.

This durood brings prosperity and happiness, and was the favourite durood recited by Sultan ul-Awliya Shaykh Abdul Qadir al-Gilani (r.a.)

Durood Ghauthia

This durood was very dear to Sultan ul-Awliya Shaykh Abdul Qadir al-Jilani (r.a.). He has ended all of his works and lectures with this durood.

It should be recited ten times in the day and ten times in the evening (maghrib). By doing this, one becomes closer to Allah and develops saintly qualities. Also, one will be safe from the catastrophies of the world. The mercy of Allah will pour down upon the recitor endlessly.

Durood Akbar

Shaykh al-Akbar Mohiuddin Ibn Al-Arabi held this durood in high regard as the most sacred and accepted durood.

Durood Shafi

Recommended for reading because it used to be recited by Hazrat Imam Shafi (May Allah Almighty be Pleased with him). Consistent reading of this Durood Sharif can lead to prosperity and success in this life and the Afterlife.

Durood Qurani

One recitation is equal to the reward of reciting the entire Quran.

Durood Ali (k.a.w)

Imam Ali (k.a.w) says that if anyone wishes to attain the maximum reward and blessings out of reciting any durood sharif, should recite this particular durood as well.

Durood Noor

Durood Noor is constantly read by the very pious saints and sages, and is regarded as the best Durood Sharif by such individuals. It is therefore recommended for its excellence.

Durood Anam

Durood Anam read once gives the reader a reward that is unimaginable. It is regarded by the very pious as the crown of Duroods. This Durood should be read especially when in the Holy City of Medina. Ideally it should be read 313 times before going to bed when in the Holy City.

Durood Mafi is ideal for tipping the scales in our favour because it helps us with forgiveness of our minor sins.

Durood Muqaddas

Helps us achieve closeness to the Holy Prophet Muhammad pbuh

Durood Awwal

Brings one closer to Almighty Allah, and all of their bad habits begin to evaporate.

Durood Nabi

HELP ACHIEVE CLOSENESS WITH ALLAH ALMIGHTY AND THE HOLY PROPHET MUHAMMAD pbuh

Durood Mahi

The Holy Prophet pbuh has conveyed this good news to his Ummah: that if anyone reads Durood Mahee once then the fires of hell are haram for that person.

Durood Haq

Recitation after one`s prayer will reveal its blessings and rewards.

Durood Tunjina

Once there was a pious man Shaykh Moosa Zurair travelling on a ship when it started to sink due to a heavy storm. In his sleep he saw the Holy Prophet. The Holy Prophet instructed Shaykh Moosa Zurair to recite Durood Tunjina 1000 times. Moosa Zurair awoke from his sleep and proceeded to recite Durood Tunjina. As soon as he had finished reading 300 times, the storm subsided and the ship was saved.

This Durood is recommended during days of calamity, turmoil and distress. Seventy times a day is essential for relief from our problems and difficulties.

Durood Sadaqa

Hadhrat Abu Sai`d al Khudri (r.a.) says that the Holy Prophet revealed that if anyone has nothing to give in charity, then this durood should be recited.

Durood Wali

Hadhrat Abu Huraira (r.a) said that if a person recites this durood eighty times on a friday after the evening (maghrib) prayers, the equivalent of eighty years of sins will be forgiven.

It also brings forth immediate success and peace of mind and heart.

Durood Hazaara/Alfa

Who ever recites this Durood in the Qabrastan [Muslim grave yard] three times, Allahu ta 'ala will take away the punishment of the grave of eighty [80] years.

Whoever recites it four times in the Qabrastan Allah Subhaana Hoo will take away the Azab ul Quboor [punishment of the grave] until the day of judgement.Who ever recites it twenty four times Allah Subhaana Hoo will send a thousand angels who will look over, oversee and protect his parents in the grave till the Day of Judgement.

Durood Qiyamah

If anyone recites this durood, the Holy Prophet`s mercy and assistance on the day of judgement is assured.

As stated in Sahih Bukhari, the Holy Prophet has said that after reciting this durood, one should then make Adhan (the call to prayer).

Durood Jummah

A rough calculation reveals that over a period of more than 20 years this is the equivalent of ONE MILLION DUROOD SHARIF recited. A sacrifice of 30 minutes on the day of Jumma can lead to such a superior blessing from Allah Almighty.
